Job description, work day and responsibilities
What you will do:
You will manage an active portfolio of Corporate banking customers and growing the bank with the acquisition of new customers.
You will develop and deliver my business plan, responding to internal risk challenges, external market challenges, and regulatory requirements.
You will develop and maintain active and influential relationships with key market professionals and players. I am Metro Bank’s external face to the market (customers & professionals) building our brand reputation in this key market place.
You will manage all aspects of Risk, including Credit, Operational and Regulatory.
You will manage, influence and build an internal network across Metro Bank to ensure a One Team approach for customers and colleagues.
You will liaise with other internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies and reporting set and managed within appetites.
You will lead, coach and inspire other colleagues in the team and wider Bank.

What you will need:
You will understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
You will have a proven track record of relationship management skills and specialist sector knowledge, including but not limited to Hospitality, Leisure, Care, Manufacturing, professional Services and general trading businesses within commercial/corporate banking environments.
You will excellent credit underwriting skills, with a track record of lending to large SME’s/Mid-Corporates.
You will have a comprehensive understanding and be adept at manage as aspects of Risk.
Track record in successfully building, maintaining and growing valuable banking relationships.
You will have extensive knowledge of different industries and sectors and how these perform both financially and structurally with high levels of experience and intuition in decision making.
You will be experienced in credit writing, financial analysis and report writing for customers with complex needs.
You will have excellent negotiation skills with an ability to interact and influence senior/executive management internally and externally.
