Description
Working within Aurora's Legal team and in collaboration with Aurora's wider business, this highly visible role will be responsible for driving forward Aurora's corporate and compliance activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain excellent relationships across the organisation, requiring confidence in managing relationships with people at senior levels. This along with the ability to work independently, have exceptional attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-moving environment are key. You must have excellent organisational skills, IT and problem-solving skills and be a confident communicator.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Legal team in Aurora's potential debt financing and M&A work
• Drive Aurora's global compliance with data protection laws and regulations, further developing Aurora's data protection policies, training and practices
• Support the Legal team's company secretarial function with annual filings and the holding of director/shareholder meetings for Aurora's international subsidiaries
• Drive Aurora's group compliance by further developing, improving and managing Aurora's Laws and Regulations Register, ensuring key statutory compliances, suitable controls and internal responsibilities in all office locations are identified, understood and managed
• Support Aurora's New Market Entries Team establish offices in new jurisdictions by identifying areas of key compliance and implementing appropriate controls, policies and processes to ensure local compliance
• Introducing, implementing, managing and maintaining Enterprise Risk Management and Policy Management Frameworks and coordinating with Aurora's group-wide departments on the same
• Continuously improving and developing Aurora's Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Modern Slavery, Privacy, Anti-Competitive Behaviour, Securities Trading Policies, ensuring annual compliance with the policies are met and suitable training to staff is provided
Required Attributes
What we are looking for
• Strong legal pedigree with legal qualification being a strong preference.
• Preferably c. 3+ PQE within a commercial or corporate practice at an international law firm or in-house at an international business.
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the fundamentals of company law.
• Excellent judgment preferably with experience of advising senior management teams and/or other senior stakeholders on matters of risk and compliance.
• Strong presentation skills with experience of providing legal training.
• Analytical thinker with ability to plan, anticipate and evaluate systematically, juggle multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment and act quickly and decisively.
• Exceptional writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Flexible, roll-up-sleeves approach.
