We are adding a Corporate Director of Operations, Hotels to our organization

Reports to: SVP Hotels

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution
• Collaborate with the Hotel Division team to set and achieve organizational goals, strategies, and tactics.
• Lead the creation of key performance metrics with the Executive Team to ensure financial stability.
• Develop annual business plans for each hotel, aligning with short- and long-term organizational goals.
• Prepare annual operating budgets, ensuring departmental targets meet flow-through benchmarks.
• Analyze financial outcomes regularly and adjust tactics to optimize results in varying economic climates.

Operational Oversight
• Oversee hotel operations to achieve budgeted EBITDA and flow-through targets.
• Lead special projects focused on new software programs and process development to enhance productivity.
• Provide monthly performance commentary for markets, hotels, and partnerships.

People Management and Development
• Plan for future growth by building team capacity and focusing on productivity and value alignment.
• Build a high-performing team through talent acquisition, mentorship, and performance management.
• Conduct monthly meetings with team members to assess performance against sales goals and KPIs.

Relationship Management
• Manage franchisee relationships with national brand partners to maximize ROI.
• Actively participate in organizational, community, and business events.

Presence and Quality Assurance
• Conduct field visits to properties to ensure high-quality standards and first impressions.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary degree or related professional experience and designation(s).
• Minimum of five years of business leadership experience with a corporate senior leadership team.
• Proven hospitality leadership experience.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with detailed management.
• Experience in leading and building highly functional teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional leadership skills to inspire enthusiasm and ensure timely and exceptional results.

Experience Required to be Successful in the Role:
• Leadership Excellence: Minimum 5 years as a hospitality leader with the ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
• Financial Acumen: Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data, create budgets, and manage financial performance to meet targets.
• Operational Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing hotel operations to achieve efficiency and profitability.
• Strategic Thinking: Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans that align with organizational goals and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Relationship Building: Skilled in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including franchisees and brand partners.
• Project Management: Experience in managing special projects, particularly those involving new technologies and process improvements.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey messages to diverse audiences.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and demands.

Working Conditions:
• Based out of the Calgary corporate office
• Occasional long days and weekends to meet demands or deadlines.
• Required travel.
• Fast-paced environment with high levels of strategic interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
