What we offer

The Corporate Law Clerk will support the Legal team based in Ontario. This role includes supporting the performance of corporate maintenance and the coordination with external law firms in respect of same; supporting the review and drafting of a variety of contracts, resolutions, real estate related documentation, and other documents of a commercial nature; assisting with regulatory matters; and, performing corporate governance work. This work will be done under the supervision of a lawyer, senior corporate law clerk, legal assistant, and other professionals. The incumbent is also responsible for providing occasional administrative support to the SVP, Secretary & General Counsel and the extended Legal team.

What you’ll do

Assist in managing the corporate governance and corporate maintenance of the Mattamy group of companies, including the coordination with external law firms who undertake such work
Review and/or draft a variety of standard contracts and resolutions for Mattamy Asset Management and Mattamy Homes Canada
Assist with regulatory compliance programs, transactions, and special projects
Assist with litigation discovery requests, KYC requests, and other filings
Formatting, transmitting and processing documents through Docusign and Diligent
Providing administrative assistance to the SVP, Secretary & General Counsel and other legal staff

What you bring

2+ years’ experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department in a corporate/commercial role
Post-Secondary education and completion of a law clerk or paralegal program
Strong desire/ability to learn and pursue personal growth
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and interact well with others
Ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask
Strong computer skills
