Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished Legal Counsel to join one of Australia’s leading ASX-listed investment and funds management organisations, renowned for its continued expansion and strong market presence. With a focus on strategic growth and sustainability, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing organisation at the forefront of the industry.



In this influential role, you will report directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, delivering strategic legal advice within a commercial and solutions-driven framework.



The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Corporate M&A, transactions, and funds management, with a passion for working on complex, high-value matters. We seek a commercially minded, ambitious legal professional eager to thrive in a dynamic legal team that supports professional development and long-term career progression.





Key responsibilities:

Oversee the negotiation and execution of all legal documentation relevant to the business, including in relation to acquisitions. commercial agreements, corporate transactions and the establishment of new funds.
Management of litigation.
Establishment of new entities.
Liaise with external legal specialists to obtain additional legal advice where necessary.
Assist in reviewing/approving fundraising disclosure documentation.
Monitor legislative/general law developments and ensure that internal clients as necessary are kept informed of current, new or proposed legislation that affect business activities.


Experience and Qualifications



Degree Qualified (LLB) with a current practicing certificate.
8 - 10 years post-qualified experience from a top-tier law firm and in-house experience.
Legal experience in corporate, funds and/or property (or the REIT sector) highly regarded.
Highly polished communication skills, both verbally and in written form.
Enjoys collaborating with others.
Takes a strategic perspective in their work, focuses on the long-term view.
Working effectively with the legal group or those outside formal line of authority to accomplish organisational goals.
