THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

Our Correctional Officers provide a high standard of dynamic security and help us uphold the safety of staff, partner service providers, visitors and persons at the facility. It is important that officers uphold their duty of care to all people at Port Phillip Prison, including those in custody.

Applications are now open for people interested in being specially trained by G4S to supervise offenders, monitor and report on their rehabilitation activities, conduct daily searches and musters, manage inductions and transfers, assist with visits, and contribute to prison admin and reporting.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

G4S runs a staged recruitment process which starts with applying online with a CV and completing our essential criteria questions:

24/7 availability for shift work including nights and weekends
Be a Permanent Residency or Citizen
Hold a Full Driver's or P2 Licence
Adherence to our Safety Policy for use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment

Completing online Virtual Job Previews
A face-to-face interview at Port Phillip Prison (1 hour)
Compliance checks: Police Checks and Fingerprinting, a high-level Physical Assessment, a 30-minute Psychological and Mental Health Assessment, verification of your most recent 2 years of Employment History, and other disclosures for security clearance by Corrections Victoria
