Reuters is looking for a correspondent to cover India's foreign exchange markets as part of its expanded focus on the Indian markets. Based in Mumbai, this role will focus on sourcing news on India's foreign exchange market and the central bank's policies surrounding it.

As part of the daily responsibilities, the person covering the forex markets will be required to do regular reports on daily trading. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of currency forwards and futures and be able to draw linkages between various segments to provide a holistic picture of the foreign exchange markets.

An important part of the candidate's role will be to help Reuters expand its contacts within bank treasuries so as to enable strong coverage of the forex markets.

About The Role

As our Correspondent, Forex, you will:

- Keep Reuters on top of daily movements within the foreign exchange market via stories on the spot rupee and shorter format ‘Buzz’ items on trading relevant trends.

- Try to spot trends and changes in economic and monetary policy reflected in the foreign exchange markets.

- Build a network of sources within the forex markets.

- Be able to take a global view on India's policies and explain their relevance to a wider audience.

About You

You’re a fit for the India forex correspondent role if you have:

- Excellent source-building and writing skills with a desire to break news.

- An understanding of forex markets and macroeconomics.

- A strong work ethic and are eager to collaborate across teams to break news.

- Fluency in English.
