Corrugator Manager (Board Production)

Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Corrugator Manager is responsible for the corrugator board production line, single facer line, reel store, and production materials management. With 2 direct reports & 27 indirect reports over 2 shifts (day and afternoon); it’s all about safety, quality, people leadership, managing change and continuous improvement. We’re looking for a dynamic Corrugator Manager who thrives on the challenge of improving staff performance, whilst challenging the status quo to improve overall production efficiency, waste and quality.
Ideal experience:
3+ years’ leadership experience driving a high-performance culture & building strong employee engagement whilst ensuring effective succession planning.
Leading & maintaining a strong Health & Safety culture.
Improved customer experience through focus on Quality & DIFOT
Exposure to a fast paced, high-volume production/manufacturing environment (Packaging or FMCG).
Technical knowledge and experience of the corrugating process is highly desirable.
Proven ability to achieve world class productivity on machines in support of the business EBITDA targets.
Managing day to day resourcing with a focus on continuous improvement.
Budget - controlling labour and raw material costs; reducing waste & proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
Computer Literate in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Kiwiplan (preferred).
Ideal attributes and skills:
Strong leadership/coaching skills.
Highly customer focused with a methodical and systematic approach to problem solving.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Focus on continuous improvement through 5S, Lean and Six Sigma programmes
NZCE/Trade qualification or Tertiary Qualification in Operations Management preferred.
Passionate about maintaining quality and productivity
