About the Role
CoSafe Community Safety Patrol Officers attend to a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing community safety, including:
Facility security and alarms
Addressing staff safety concerns
Community complaints of anti-social behaviour
Proactive and reactive high-visibility vehicle and foot patrols
Enforcement & education of local laws
Locating and reporting criminal activities
Environmental health issues
Assist with emergency response
The use of the City’s CCTV systems
In addition to the below shifts, the CoSafe team provide support to the City's Civic events and weekly meetings at the admininstration building (evenings)
Shifts include day shifts (0600-1800), afternoon shifts (1200-0000) and night shifts (1800-0600).
CoSafe is a service committed to 24/7, 365 days a year. You will work weekends and public holidays as required.
Rosters are subject to change for operational and City requirements.
About you
You will need to possess a very high level of communication, observational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Given that this role can involve confronting situations, you should possess extensive experience and skills in conflict resolution and de-escalation.
You must be able to work independently most of the time while also collaborating effectively with the team to achieve the best and safest outcomes.
Previous experience and/or qualifications in security, law enforcement or similar is preferred, but we welcome all applicants who are dedicated, reliable, and eager to contribute to a safer community.

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 3 Step 1 ($49.00 per hour inclusive of casual loading) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
