Title: Costing & Process Planning Engineer
Role: The Costing & Process Planning Engineer will coordinate and lead estimating efforts to ensure optimal costing and process selection at Custiv. Specializing in casting ,forging, & machining this role involves estimating manufacturing costs, planning processes, and meeting customer and manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct cost estimates for forged ,casted & machined components.
• Attend team and project status meetings, and prepare reports.
• Estimate costs for pre- and post-processes (heat treatment, coating, etc.).
• Enter work element features into the pricing database.
• Consolidate all parts of scope into overall job estimates per specifications.
• Use current estimating software and databases.
• Estimate quotes for prototypes and production parts.
• Estimate tooling costs
• Carry out negotiations to reach the most optimal cost
• Create the complete manufacturing process plan for a given product
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 7 + years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, should costing, Value Engineering
• Knowledge of limits, fits, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with costing tools
• Understanding of various casting, forging and machining manufacturing processes.
• Experience interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Strong time management and professionalism.
• Ensure seamless communication across engineering, manufacturing sectors, global business units, and functions.
• Ability to read 2D and 3D drawings (CAD software experience is an advantage).
• Knowledge of cost analysis software/tools (e.g., aPriori, Costimator, McKinsey clean sheet).
• Skill in selecting the right equipment and processes to manufacture components as per expectations.
