We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pre-Counseling Advisor to join our team. The Pre-Counseling Advisor will serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking counseling services, providing them with essential information and support to help them make informed decisions about their mental health care journey.
Responsibilities:
• Client Consultation: Conduct initial consultations with individuals seeking counseling services to assess their needs, concerns, and goals.
• Information Provision: Provide detailed information about available counseling services, including types of therapy, counselor specialties, appointment scheduling, and insurance coverage.
• Assessment and Referral: Evaluate clients' needs and determine appropriate counseling resources or referrals based on their preferences, location, and specific requirements.
• Support and Guidance: Offer empathetic support and guidance to clients as they navigate the process of seeking counseling, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, including notes from consultations, referrals made, and any follow-up actions required.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with counseling staff and other team members to ensure seamless transitions for clients referred to specific counselors or services.
• Community Outreach: *Assist in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of counseling services and promote mental health education and resources.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Previous experience in a counseling center, mental health clinic, or similar setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Empathetic and compassionate demeanor, with a genuine desire to help others.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic medical records systems preferred.
