Job Description
· Work with students having Special Education Needs.
· Cater to Pre-Primary referrals.
· Involvement in SEN Admissions.
· Conduct classroom observations and informal assessments for referred cases.
· Formulate and implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) for all permanent cases in each term.
· Prepare worksheets and teaching aids for achieving remedial goals.
· Evaluate IEP goals at an individual level as well as through exam papers and review sheets to ensure application of skills.
· Prepare progress reports on the basis of the same.
· Provide intervention for academic as well as need based counselling for referred cases.
· Regularly follow up with teachers to monitor academic and behavioural progress of students. Recommend strategies for the same.
· Guide Visiting Professionals (shadow-teacher) on a regular basis to ensure positive and continuous development in the child.
· Recommend external assistance/therapies as per the students’ needs.
· Suggest exam provisions to parents as per individual student needs and update teachers and grade coordinators about the same.
· Assist students availing resource intervention during secondary exam invigilation and primary reviews.
· Train grade 3 teachers to implement first level of screening for learning disabilities through BCSLD checklist (Behavioural Checklist for Screening the Learning Disabled).
· Conduct BCSLD and DTLD training of resource staff.
· Conduct DTLD test with Grade 3 students.
· Evaluate DTLD test protocols of grade 3 students.
· Provide feedback to parents about DTLD test results and recommend appropriate plan of action.
· Conduct various workshops for students, parents and school staff.
· Conduct in-house SEN trainings with resource members
· Attend and participate in Resource Meet Tainings.
· Conduct vocational guidance counselling for grade 8 for subject selection of ICSE and IGCSE.
· Ensure regularity on important events in school.
· Enthusiastically participate in VIVA and any other additional responsibilities related to school co-curricular activities.
Qualification: MA / BA (Psychology). B.Ed/D.Ed is a must.
