Position Overview:
The Preschool School Counselor plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of young children in a preschool setting. This position focuses on fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting healthy relationships, and providing guidance to both students and their families. The Preschool School Counselor collaborates with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive network for the overall well-being of preschool-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Emotional and Social Support:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges of preschool children.
- Assist students in developing coping strategies, conflict resolution skills, and empathy towards others.
- Promote social-emotional learning through age-appropriate activities, discussions, and classroom interventions.
2. Academic Guidance:
- Support students in developing age-appropriate academic skills, such as attention, focus, and self-regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify learning difficulties or developmental delays and create appropriate intervention plans.
- Assist with the transition process from preschool to kindergarten, including readiness assessments and recommendations.
3. Parent and Family Involvement:
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents and families, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct parent workshops and informational sessions on topics related to child development, behavior management, and parenting strategies.
- Collaborate with families to address specific concerns, such as separation anxiety, behavior challenges, or developmental milestones.
4. Collaboration and Consultation:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system for students.
- Provide consultation to teachers regarding classroom management techniques, behavioral interventions, and individualized education plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss student progress, interventions, and support strategies.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by school policies or regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A master's degree in school counseling, counseling psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in an educational or counseling setting.
- Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and age-appropriate counseling techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in counseling practices.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in early childhood education and counseling.

Salary: ₹8,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
