Salary:

The salary range for this position is $+5,235-$111,740 per annum, with additional salary packaging and professional development incentives available.

Job Description:

Piliyintinji-ki Stronger Families (PSF) provides culturally appropriate services for men, women, and families. As a Counsellor, you will be responsible for addressing the social and emotional wellbeing needs of the community by providing support, counselling, and case management for individuals and their families. You will work in partnership with other family support services to enhance service delivery and identify trends, gaps, and needs of the Aboriginal population in the Barkly Region.

Ability and willingness to skill transfer to Aboriginal staff

Ability to use best practice counselling models

Assist in facilitating activities and programs to enhance the delivery of those services

Identifying trends, gaps, and needs of the Aboriginal population in the Barkly Region to improve access and effectiveness of service delivery

You will provide comprehensive counselling services to Aboriginal individuals and families experiencing family violence and associated issues, as well as liaising with other agencies for referrals and presenting to communities as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, you must have the proven ability to demonstrate working and operating in a culturally responsive and sensitive manner. You should possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in engaging with clients and writing documentation and reports.

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or related human services discipline

Registration with an appropriate authorised practicing governance body in Australia

Current Northern Territory Driver's License or ability to obtain one

National Police Clearance
