Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will handle transactions accurately, assist customers with their orders, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Experience in food preparation, POS systems, and food safety practices is preferred. Responsibilities
Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately
Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and attention to detail
Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about food items, and promote specials or upsell items when appropriate
Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed according to food safety standards
Prepare simple food items as needed, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
Maintain a clean cashier station and dining area throughout shifts
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without sacrificing quality of service
Support team members in maintaining overall restaurant cleanliness and sanitation standards
Requirements
Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and giving correct change
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours
Kitchen experience or food preparation skills are a plus but not mandatory
Prior cashiering experience with cash handling expertise is preferred
