Job Description
A Counter Sales Executive is responsible for handling sales transactions directly with customers, often in retail or service-based businesses. Their duties typically include:
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers who approach the counter or retail area.
Answer customer queries about products or services, and provide recommendations based on their needs.
Resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
Sales and Product Promotion:
Promote and upsell products or services to customers.
Inform customers about new arrivals, offers, or discounts.
Meet sales targets and contribute to store sales goals.
Processing Transactions:
Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment for purchases.
Issue receipts and process returns or exchanges according to store policies.
Maintain an accurate record of transactions and ensure the register is balanced at the end of the shift.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of low stock or product shortages.
Assist in restocking shelves and organizing products on display counters.
Ensure products are labeled and priced correctly.
Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:
Keep the counter area clean and organized.
Ensure products are neatly arranged and easy for customers to access.
Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about the products or services being sold.
Provide accurate information regarding features, prices, and availability to customers.
Administrative Support:
Complete paperwork related to sales and inventory management.
Assist in handling customer orders and delivery arrangements if required.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure that all sales policies and procedures are followed.
Handle merchandise and payments securely, minimizing errors or fraud.
