About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill positions as judicial support staff in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and High Court of New Zealand. As a judge's clerk, you will work closely with judges to provide research support, draft opinions, and analyze complex legal issues.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on behalf of judges
Draft opinions, memoranda, and other documents
Collate authorities and prepare summaries of recent court decisions
Provide comments on draft judgments and proofread final versions
Requirements
A high level of academic ability, preferably with an Honours degree
Excellent research and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of legal concepts
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to upholding human rights and dignity, including gender, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural equity
