Job Description

At the Department of Justice, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Victims Support Services team as a Court Support and Liaison Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adult and child victims of family violence.

This role was established in response to the implementation of the Safe at Home program, which aims to provide guidance, information, support, assistance, and empowerment for those affected by family violence.

The successful candidate will assist adults and child victims of crime by providing:

Information about court processes and terminology;
Support throughout the court process;
Referrals to appropriate support services;
Practical assistance with attending court and other appointments;
Transportation and accompaniment to court, police interviews, medical appointments, and support services;
In addition, you will be responsible for operating as a member of the Safe at Home interdepartmental project team, providing high-level administrative support to the Victims Assistance Unit, and liaising with Divisional Managers and community-based organisations.

To be successful in this role, you will require a Current Drivers Licence and relevant qualifications in counselling and/or trauma counselling or a similar discipline.
