DESCRIPTION
Country & Outback Health (CObH) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on building healthier and happier communities. Delivering a diverse range of mental health, allied health, addiction support, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, NDIS services as well as support services for Young People within our headspace centres.
The Program
Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program offers free, non-clinical, community-based mental health support to people living with a severe mental illness in regional areas. We support recovery for people whose mental health is impacting their daily life. The program is voluntary and can be accessed via a self, or a third-party referral.
The Role
Full-time or Part-time – Monday to Friday (up to 75 hours per fortnight)
Choice of Location – Port Augusta or Whyalla
Join CObH as a CPSP Support Coordinator and make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, in person or over the phone, helping them set personal goals and connect with the right supports to achieve them.
You’ll help clients develop practical strategies and skills tailored to their individual goals. This may include:
Accessing education and vocational training
Money and budgeting support, including linking to financial services
Building connections and a sense of belonging within the local community
Linking with other support services for housing, employment, and wellbeing
Supporting both mental and physical health, including making beneficial referrals
Throughout the 12-week program, you’ll maintain ongoing communication to ensure goals are regularly reviewed, updated, and achieved. All client interactions and progress are documented using a CRM and database.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, flexible, and solutions-focused, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience writing reports, and solid IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and familiarity with CRMs.
You value confidentiality, understand the needs of diverse populations, and share CObH’s mission and values. Experience in healthcare or community services is highly regarded.
Certificate IV or above in Mental Health, Disability Studies, Community Services or related discipline
Experience supporting clients in a health or community services setting using a compassionate, person-centred approach
Excellent communication skills and a caring approach when supporting clients, families, friends, and carers, especially in times of distress
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build respectful relationships with other service providers
Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills to provide practical, timely support to clients and their families
What’s on offer
5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
12 days paid personal leave plus cultural and wellness leave
- Salary range: $ 80,9670 - $ 86,758 per year (pro-rata for part time)
Access to full not-for-profit salary packaging benefits so you can reduce your taxable income and increase your take home pay
