Job Description
Regions employs a CRA Lending Specialist to lead the origination of residential mortgage loans through a branch network.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manages the completion of mortgage applications to be presented to the loan processing and underwriting units
• Reviews loan solicitations, evaluates financial details, and assesses the adequacy of collateral and the credit standing of customers
• Maintains communication with the loan recipient, providing updates on the loan's advancement and obtaining any essential paperwork
• Adjusting loan structures to align with appropriate lending protocols and Federal rules
• Draft an elaborate business and marketing blueprint containing the names of potential and current loan applicants, real estate agents, builders, developers, and others, as well as a timeline for consistent interaction
• Engaging with customers over the phone or during walk-ins to deliberate on diverse loan offerings and qualifying conditions
• Conducts outreach to potential or current customers as per the Regions marketing blueprint to secure new business or preserve existing accounts
• Markets other products and services offered by the bank to clients
• Evaluates surveys and appraisals before taking corrective actions to rectify encroachments and violations
• Employ participation in networking opportunities across different sectors to market loan products
Requirements:
• A high school diploma or GED is necessary for pursuing further education or career opportunities
• Proven expertise in mortgage lending gained through one year of experience and successful mortgage origination
• Rich history in the mortgage sector, particularly in building external business channels through referrals from various market players such as real estate agents, contractors, and financial advisors
Preferences:
• Bachelor's degree
• Former job as a Mortgage Loan Officer
Skills and Competencies:
• Good organizational skills
• Familiar with a range of mortgage products, systems, terms, tax obligations, and programs that provide assistance with down payments.
• Having expertise in agency and investor regulations and standards
• The ability to develop and nurture internal and external relationships is vital for achieving high service standards
• The ability to balance competing priorities and fulfill challenging deadlines is a necessary skill set
• Experienced with Microsoft Office suite
• Sales acumen
• Skilled in articulating thoughts through writing and speech
