The Team
The Marketing & BD department at Farrer & Co is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s marketing strategy, including profile and reputation, marketing communications, and business development. This also extends to all aspects of marketing planning, brand management, communications, events, CRM, business and market analysis, and business development, including pitches and tenders.
The Digital Marketing team is responsible for managing and developing the firm’s marketing technologies to support the firm’s business development goals. This includes overseeing digital marketing channels, such as the firm’s website and e-marketing software, to ensure consistent and effective communication with target audiences. The team also manages the firm’s CRM system (RIO, based on Peppermint/Microsoft Dynamics), ensuring it is optimised for capturing, analysing, and leveraging client data to enhance client engagement and support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the team is responsible for driving data and analytics initiatives, utilising data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies, measure campaign effectiveness, and inform future marketing and business development efforts.
Scope
The CRM Executive supports the Firm’s marketing and business development objectives, with a focus on maintaining and improving the CRM system and assisting with digital marketing activity. Reporting to the CRM & Digital Manager, the Executive helps to ensure data quality, supports users across the Firm, and contributes to the effective use of CRM data for business development and marketing campaigns.
The role is hands-on and operational, providing day-to-day support in data management, user engagement, reporting, and campaign delivery. It offers an opportunity to develop skills in CRM and digital marketing technologies, working closely with colleagues in the Marketing & BD team.
Responsibilities
Data Management & Quality Control
Maintain and update CRM records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Run regular checks for duplicates and support data cleaning activities.
Assist with managing data change requests in line with business needs.
User Engagement, Training & Support
Act as the first point of contact for user queries and provide basic troubleshooting.
Support the delivery of CRM training by preparing materials and guides and assisting with sessions.
Encourage adoption of the system by helping colleagues use it effectively.
Marketing Intelligence & Insight
Produce routine reports and exports from the CRM for use in campaigns, client development and BD activity.
Assist in the preparation of dashboards and summaries of client and contact information.
Support segmentation of data for targeting and campaigns.
Digital Marketing & Campaign Support
Assist with managing mailing lists and preparing CRM data for e-marketing campaigns (e.g. via Vuture).
Track campaign lists and help with monitoring results.
Skills and Experience
Experience of working with CRM systems (preferably InterAction or Microsoft Dynamics) and digital marketing tools such as Vuture is desirable.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Outlook).
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow data protocols.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Willingness to learn reporting tools and build confidence in data analysis over time.
Clear and confident communicator, able to explain processes to colleagues and provide user support.
Positive, proactive attitude and a genuine interest in developing a career in CRM and digital marketing.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Education and Qualifications
Degree-level qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Practical experience with CRM systems (e.g. InterAction, Litera Peppermint, Microsoft Dynamics) and digital marketing tools (e.g. Vuture) is highly desirable.
Special aspects
The hours of work for this opportunity are 09:30am-5:30pm but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary and in response to client demand.
