Job Summary
CCIHSS is seeking a compassionate, culturally competent, and community-focused Cross-Cultural Community Support Worker to support individuals and families navigating complex systems and life transitions.
This position plays a critical role in advancing equitable access to services and strengthening community integration outcomes across Calgary.
The successful candidate will:
Bridge cultural and language gaps between clients and service providers
Conduct client intake assessments and develop individualized service plans
Support access to healthcare, housing, employment, education, and income supports
Deliver culturally grounded programming and workshops
Advocate for culturally responsive service delivery
Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when required

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop action plans
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case notes
Monitor progress and adjust service plans as required
Provide ongoing emotional, social, and practical support
Act as a cultural bridge between clients and institutions
Provide informal interpretation and cross-cultural communication support
Facilitate access to healthcare, housing, employment programs, income assistance, legal and immigration services, and child and family services
Design and facilitate culturally relevant workshops and group programs
Support community integration and engagement initiatives
Promote client participation and leadership
Provide crisis intervention support within scope of practice
Advocate for equitable and culturally responsive services
Build and maintain partnerships with Calgary service providers
Participate in inter-agency collaboration
Track program data for evaluation and funding reporting
Support program development and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field is an asset
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Experience in community outreach, case management, or social services
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity
Ability to provide cross-cultural communication support
First Aid and CPR certification
Valid driver’s license.
Work is conducted across multiple community settings in Calgary, including community health centres, social service organizations, supportive housing environments, and outreach locations.
Local travel within Calgary may be required.

Pay: $19.00-$33.65 per hour
