Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated experienced Cross Sectioning Electronic Technician to support metal development and material testing. The ideal candidate will be an expert in cross sectioning and polishing, with strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform cutting and polishing to achieve precise cross-sections of materials.
• Capture images, measure thickness, and report on material properties.
• Prepare samples with accuracy and consistency for metal development.
• Analyze and gather data, and communicate findings to lab engineers and team members.

Qualifications:
• Expertise in metal development, including testing with machines such as DMA, DSC, TMA, TGA, Instron/DIC, and Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar.
• Experience in material testing and reporting of data
• 3-5 years of direct experience in cross sectioning and polishing.
• Candidates with relevant hands-on experience (with or without a bachelor’s degree) are encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to work independently, with no need for additional training in cross sectioning or polishing.

Type: Contract

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: San Diego, CA

Pay: $55-$70/hr (DOE)
