ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Associate Curriculum Development Director – Pre-Primary, you will lead the design and development of innovative, age-appropriate curriculum for pre-primary sections of LEAD-powered schools. You will bring deep expertise in early childhood education, a passion for nurturing young minds, and a commitment to delivering exceptional learning experiences for pre-primary learners. The role involves managing a team of curriculum developers, collaborating across functions, and ensuring the creation of engaging and developmentally sound educational materials that empower both teachers and students. You will play a pivotal role in advancing LEAD’s mission to deliver excellent, affordable education to every child.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum Development
• Design and deliver a high-quality, error-free curriculum for pre-primary students that meets developmental and learning needs.
• Develop innovative academic products including lesson plans, assessments, and multi-format learning materials.
• Review, provide feedback, and ensure the accuracy, age-appropriateness, and quality of content created by Curriculum Development Managers (CDMs), Subject Content Associates (SCAs), and Subject Content Managers (SCMs).
• Research best practices in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and integrate them into curriculum design.
• Visit LEAD partner schools to understand on-ground requirements and translate insights into actionable content improvements.
Team Leadership
• Coach, mentor, and manage a team of CDMs, SCAs, and SCMs, supporting their professional growth and fostering a collaborative team culture aligned with LEAD values.
• Set clear goals for the team, monitor progress, and ensure achievement in line with LEAD quality standards.
• Establish curriculum development processes and guidelines to ensure consistent and efficient delivery of academic products.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with field teams and other stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation and feedback integration.

Project & Process Management
• Oversee curriculum development projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of products.
• Drive innovation by researching and implementing new methods to enhance learning in LEAD partner schools.
• Promote the integration of technology in pre-primary education to improve both teaching and learning experiences.

EXPERIENCE

Educational Background: ECCE qualification with a strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.

Professional Experience:
• Teaching experience in preschool or pre-primary settings.
• Proven experience in designing learning progressions and solutions for pre-primary students.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in coaching and managing teams.
• Demonstrated project management skills in an educational context.
• Experience in integrating technology into educational content and delivery.
