Job Description
You'll be part of a team of 20 engineers at Heathrow Airport who have a wide range of skills & responsibilities; however, your primary role will be as a Customer Engineer responding to reported incidents such as voice telephone faults on Cisco phones.
You'll be on-site daily at Heathrow (08.00 - 16.00) but sometimes required to carry out tasks at London City and Gatwick airports, along with several data centres across London. If an environment where each day poses a different challenge is what gets you up in the morning then this is the role for you. This is a technical, hands-on role, which will require ad hoc out-of-hours work, don't worry we'll pay you overtime.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive maintenance checks.
Staging new network equipment on Juniper and Cisco switches.
Staging & building Cisco phones
Cisco and Juniper system maintenance
Network patching
Assist with fault-finding
Stock Control and Asset Management
There is an opportunity to develop & qualify for CCST & CCNA.
Skills and experience you'll have
Customer service skills
Able to explain issues/solutions to non-technical customers
Work through problems logically
Willingness to learn new systems and technologies
Strong ability to self-organize and manage your time
Prior experience with IT Networks is desirable
Prior experience with other telephony solutions is desirable
UK Manual driver's licence
5-year checkable work history (critical for Airside access)
Able to pass a criminal record check
