ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are recruiting for a well-established and dynamic company with a national footprint, specialising in providing equipment and services for commercial sectors. Known for innovation and reliability, the company employs a sizable workforce and is recognised for its focus on customer service and technical expertise.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will manage a busy switchboard, handling and transferring calls. Calmly handle high-pressure situations and ensure smooth call routing, escalating issues to various departments as needed. This is a 2-week temporary role, with potential for extension or permanent placement depending on business needs. Due to the location of the role the selected candidate will need to have their own mode of transport.

DUTIES

Manage high-volume incoming and outgoing calls

Transfer and escalate calls to relevant departments

Log call details and ensure accurate message delivery

Provide first-line customer support over the phone

Address basic queries and direct clients to appropriate teams

Monitor unresolved calls and follow up where needed

Ensure calls are handled efficiently while maintaining customer service standards

Handle urgent escalations swiftly to reduce wait times

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Strong communication skills with a clear, professional phone manner

Proficient with switchboard systems; experience with call management software

Excellent customer service skills; ability to manage and resolve queries effectively

Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle high call volumes

Confident problem-solving and issue escalation skills

Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate call logging and follow-up

Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments

Experience in fast-paced environments; prior customer service or reception experience a plus
