Programme Description
What does this team do?

In today's rapidly evolving tech landscape, cyber security is really important. Our Defence and Resilience team enhances the cyber resilience of our clients, by strengthening their ability to prepare for, detect, and respond to cyber incidents:

Prepare for: We develop robust incident response and recovery plans for clients and test their response strategy with simulated incidents to ensure they are well-prepared for potential threats. Our team also helps implement secure backup and vaulting solutions to ensure that critical data remains protected, mitigating the impact of a cyber incident.
Detect: The team enables clients to shift from reactive cyber security to a proactive approach, allowing them to detect threats swiftly and effectively. This includes implementing automated tools to monitor their systems for cyber intrusions and proactively uncovering active cyber threats in client systems before they escalate, preventing significant damage.
Respond: In the event of a cyber incident, our team provides technical response and incident management support to investigate, contain, and minimise the impact, working closely with clients to restore normal business operations as quickly as possible and minimise disruption.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.

What kind of work will I do?

Whether you get involved in the strategic or technical side of Cyber (or both!) you’ll be working on all kinds of challenging projects to keep clients safe, secure, and one step ahead. You will develop skills to establish, run and manage projects, directly advise clients, and solve complex problems to deliver quality results.
You will have the opportunity to work with a range of functional teams across a broad range of industries, helping clients to navigate periods of change and complexity, build resilience against a diverse set of strategic, operational and technology risks, and make informed risk decisions to grow their business, manage disruption, and preserve their brand.
We believe in providing our graduates with a ‘live experience’ as soon as they land in the business, which means assigning you to a client project and enabling you to engage with Deloitte colleagues and client teams. Tasks will vary across each project, but will include (and are not limited to):
Developing presentations to communicate insights
Project management tasks, such as scheduling meetings and taking minutes, tracking deadlines, and preparing materials
Understanding our clients’ requirements and proposing solutions to address these
Organising and analysing data, creating reports
Conducting research for our team
Reading contracts and documents.
There are additional opportunities to get involved in wider activities such as supporting the delivery of our people strategy, being involved in the graduate induction, or helping out with our other practice management areas. The scope to build out your career goes as far as you want it to.
Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our parent and carer policies here.

How will I develop?

During your first few weeks with the firm, you will receive training that has been designed to cover the core components of the work the team delivers for clients. Our ambition is to support our people to achieve their personal and professional goals by providing access to a wide range of quality learning materials and opportunities.

As a new member of the team, you are empowered to become part of a client project and begin understanding and solving complex problems. We will provide support and ongoing training to allow you to learn how to handle confidential information, deliver quality work, and help build and maintain relationships with key clients.
