DANCE TEACHER– JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced dance teacher to be responsible for teaching dance as part of the school curriculum. The dance teacher will follow the guidelines as set out by the education department which includes the theory and practice of general dance, various dance forms etc. They should also prepare students for exams& competitions in dance.
To be successful as a dance teacher, you should create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of dance. Ultimately, a top-notch dance teacher should be skilled in various dance forms, planning events for student participation, and creating after school dance clubs.
Teacher Responsibilities:
Teaching theoretical &practical Dance forms.
Teaching dancing to students from beginner to advanced level.
Incorporating dance forms and movement in lessons.
Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
Preparing students for school events and planned dance experiences.
Preparing students for practicals and exams.
Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school dance clubs.
Building relationships and mentoring students.
Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
Teaching students about the history of Dance.
Assigning and grading projects and examinations.
Recording and reporting on students' progress.
Compose lesson plans in order to successfully incorporate the full duration of each lesson.
Execute lessons efficiently using different styles of teaching depending on the content.
Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere.
Teacher Requirements:
MasterDegree in Dance with teaching qualification, or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 to 3years’ experience in Dance teaching role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to set and mark examination papers.
Demonstrated excellence in a variety of dance techniques.
Capacity to supervise group work.
Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills.
Supportive, flexible disposition.
Available to work during evenings, on occasion.
Knowledge of various teaching methods
A patient and resilient personality
The ability to execute lessons with meaning, in a fun, and engaging manner.
