About the role:

The primary purpose of the Data Administrator Analyst role is to provide business data management stewardship – ensuring the secure, accurate, and effective use of data across our systems, with a particular focus on supporting our ERP (VantagePoint) environment.
This role is responsible for the ongoing health, performance, and security of our databases, as well as the configuration and maintenance of system access, ERP functionality, and reporting tools. By combining strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of our business needs, this role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven insights, maintaining system integrity, and supporting the continuous improvement of Northrop’s operational systems.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Create and configure role security and user accounts.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Develop and maintain system documentation including, data standards, procedures, and definitions.
Work closely with Service Partners on service requests related the various role functions
Configuration, maintenance/patching, performance and query optimization/tuning, and backups/recovery of SQL database systems.
Ensure database security, integrity, and availability.
Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions.
Collect, process, and analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights.
Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
Set up and maintain ERP (VantagePoint) features and modules.
Ensure data integrity and security within the ERP (Vantagepoint) system.
Stay informed about ERP (Vantagepoint) updates and changes that may affect users
Oversee and develop a small support team by setting clear expectations, delegating effectively and aligning roles with Northrop’s standards.
Oversee office operations including facility management, IT components, utilities, WHS compliance, and liaising with shared services.
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding for staff, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to company policies.
Support internal communication and office events, working closely with the Canberra Manager to foster a positive and informed workplace culture.
Manage local budget oversight by monitoring expenses and ensuring alignment with financial policies and delegated authority.
Provide project and marketing support including bid preparation, client event coordination, capability statement updates and project setup.
The talent you’ll bring:
Between 2-5 years of experience.
Tertiary education in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong understanding of ERP systems and database management.
Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, or similar.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems
Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and data modelling.
Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Recognised qualifications in Business Administration, management or similar.
Proven experience in office management or business support roles.
Strong planning and time management skills.
Proficient at business software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel. Proven ability to learn and utilise new software and upgrades.
Demonstrated track record in building effective relationships within office and across offices and central services.
Able to confidently manage people and build teams.
Experience with writing proposals and preparing marketing material.
