Technical Delivery Manager Job Dimensions
Leading teams from 5 – 30 people.
Responsible for delivery of a mid-sized project, or a few smaller projects simultaneously.
Manages multiple delivery teams or squads via lower level delivery staff for example scrum masters/agile delivery leads.
Manages across onshore and nearshore or offshore teams.
Comfortable in leading services delivered from client locations integrated with staff from NTT DATA locations.
Comfortable in T&M and Fixed Price engagements.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Management of demand planning, forecasting, budgeting and prioritisation of project work within the team
Define, lead and monitor all team delivery ensuring adherence to delivery methodology, quality and architectural principles, to deliver business goals and minimise technical debt
Point of escalation from clients perspective for delivery issues
Effort estimation: Organise, review and assure effort estimates for technical work, either for bids or on projects
Reporting: Prepare internal and external project reports which provide the necessary MI, and help to steer behaviour
Governance: Organise and drive project governance internally and externally
Risk management: Identify, track, communicate and manage risks, measure value and make judgments to minimise costs and delays.
Stakeholder management and communication: Manage client stakeholders to ensure alignment of the project to the customer and the customer to the project to ensure smooth delivery
Driving Agile projects: Organise, facilitate and run agile ceremonies, modifying them to meet client and project needs.
Project ownership: Be the controlling mind who keeps track of all the details, drives the project identity and success from beginning to end – own the entire project lifecycle.
Delivery: Get projects delivered, ensure quality, and get formal acceptance of deliveries and deliverables
Technical Delivery Manager Skill / Capability Requirements:
Strong technical expertise in delivering Data and/or AI technologies and methodologies.
Leadership and team management skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships (internal and external).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ideally - cross site, and multi-shore delivery experience
Hands on experience with a project management toolset, e.g. Atlassian JIRA, to be used on a day-to-day basis to track and manage an engineering project
Technical background - strong technical background as software engineer or developer
Architecture - some understanding of application architecture, data architecture, infrastructure and business process.
Leadership - strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
People Development - understanding and track record of people and team development
