Your day-to-day:
Analyse data and deliver actionable insights to support business decisions.
Build dashboards and reports that tell compelling stories using PowerBI and Databricks.
Model data and write SQL queries to extract and transform information.
Present insights clearly to stakeholders and influence strategic planning.
Collaborate on projects from early stages to set objectives and review processes.
Automate reporting and help drive self-service analytics across the business.
Stay curious and share knowledge to foster a data-driven culture.
Your team:
You'll join Lotto NZ's Data & Analytics team within the Innovation & Product division. We're the people turning numbers into stories that shape strategy and customer experiences. Our team designs dashboards, builds predictive models, and delivers insights that influence everything from game design to marketing campaigns.
We're currently focused on automation and self-service analytics, using tools like PowerBI, SQL, and advanced modelling to make data accessible across the business. As a Data Analyst, you'll be the go-to expert for all things Insights and analysis - helping us make informed decisions and keep Lotto NZ at the forefront of innovation.
A bit about you
As an experienced data and analytics practitioner, you will be passionate about turning numbers into insights and proud of what you do. You will have:
Strong skills in data analysis and storytelling ' you can make complex information easy to understand.
Advanced experience with PowerBI or similar for dashboards and visualisations.
Proven ability to write SQL queries and work with data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
Knowledge of predictive modelling and experience using R or Python.
A knack for building data models and integrating multiple data sources.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret numerical and technical information.
Great communication skills to present insights clearly to different audiences.
A tertiary qualification in a numeric discipline (Statistics preferred).
Ideally, 4+ years' experience in a similar role.
