The purpose of this role is to support (i) the Global Head of CCIB Operational Risk ("OR") and the broader CCIB OR team in discharging their accountabilities through collection, review and analysis of MI for CCIB OR, (ii) the GBS GOR Lead as functional coordinator for GBS GOR Unit.
This role will help in the CCIB OR team in receiving timely MI for understanding the CCIB OR book and in assessing and reviewing operational risk events emanating in CCIB. The use of data and analytics to determine useful trends and comparison to enable meaningful and impactful insights to OR. This will ultimately help the head of Group CCIB OR to attest on the quarterly operational loss data.
Strategy
Operational Risk spans an array of potential for financial loss and negative impact on our clients and providers of capital. A developed understanding of this potential and the business case for minimising loss and impact is a requirement for this role.
Knowledge of CCIB Business and a good understanding of the underlying data is essential for this.
While risk management is carried out by the First-Line, the Group Operational Risk Team (GORT) team is accountable for monitoring and ensuring that Operational Risk is appropriately identified, assessed, understood/calibrated, controlled and managed, with Risk Appetite clearly articulated and supported by appropriate stress testing. GOR is also responsible for ensuring appropriate escalation, follow-up and learning from Operational Risk Events / Incidents. The role-holder is expected to deliver the required expertise to facilitate delivery of these GORT accountabilities by CCIB OR team.
The role will require close coordination with M7 and Insights/monitoring team to understand and review the underlying data. It would also require some coordination with OR officers
