Qualifications

Responsibilities
Experience managing large datasets, data modeling, and creating data infrastructures to support data analysis and reporting initiatives
Experience in data visualization and communicating findings to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
While a Data Analyst is expected to contribute in many ways to the projects within the company, typical responsibilities include:
Participating in team-based collaborative efforts
Entering data required for grants or evaluation projects
Managing large and/or complex project datasets: data cleaning, merging, and cross-referencing for evaluation and research projects
Conducting brief descriptive analysis of data
Summarizing quantitative data for reports and presentations
Ensuring data confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information
Developing reports, tools, and visualizations to communicate project findings effectively
Summarizing project results and preparing progress reports for supervisors
Contributing to continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas to streamline data processes and improve workflows
Technical Expertise: Demonstrating proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, SPSS, Excel) and continuously developing specialized skills to enhance the quality of analysis and reporting

Behavioral Science Research Institute (BSRI) is growing, and we’re looking for the right people to join our team! BSRI is a non-profit located in Coral Gables, Miami, Florida, specializing in research, evaluation, and capacity building. BSRI is known for contributing to positive change in communities and systems through our research and evaluation role. We are seeking a Data Analyst I who is motivated to use their knowledge and skills as part of a team that blends empirical methods with lived experience to help us fulfill our company mission.

The knowledge, skills, and experience we are looking for at BSRI:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Social Science, Public Health, or a related field with 2+ years of academic and/or work experience (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proficiency in Tableau is required, with additional experience in SPSS, Excel, SQL, or other data analysis and visualization tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly in cleaning and transforming data with Power Query and summarizing data with pivot tables.Experience managing large datasets, data modeling, and creating data infrastructures to support data analysis and reporting initiatives.
• Experience in data visualization and communicating findings to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience or knowledge of community change projects (e.g., health equity, housing, workforce development, racial equity, etc.).
• Highly Preferred: Experience with Qualtrics PLUS: Experience in querying, analyzing, summarizing, and visualizing data using mixed methods (both qualitative and quantitative). Familiarity with SQL is desirable, along with a basic familiarity with AI tools and their applications in data analysis.
