Job Description
The Data Architect role includes the following responsibilities:
· Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business executives and IT teams, to define Tenerity’s data strategy and align it with business goals and objectives. Develop a clear vision for the data architecture and establish guidelines and standards for data management.
· Data Modeling: Design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models that capture the structure, relationships, and dependencies. This involves understanding the business requirements and translating them into effective data models.
· Data Integration: Determine how different data sources and systems within Tenerity, as well as external data sources, can be integrated and harmonized. Develop strategies for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL or ELT) processes to ensure data consistency and quality across systems.
· Data Governance: Establish data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Define data standards, data classification, and data lifecycle management practices to govern Tenerity’s data assets.
· Database Design and Management: Select and design appropriate database systems and technologies based on the requirements. Optimize database structures, schema design, and indexing strategies for efficient data storage and retrieval.
· Data Security and Privacy: Architect solutions to comply with security measures and protocols to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats. Ensure adherence to data encryption and compliance standards such as PCI DSS as well as data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA as required in the various markets that Tenerity operates in.
· Data Analytics and Reporting: Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to define data requirements for reporting, analysis, and business intelligence purposes. Enable efficient data access and provide insights for decision-making through data architecture design.
· Data Migration and Transformation: Plan data migration projects, ensuring the smooth transition of data from legacy systems to new platforms. Define data transformation rules and strategies to convert and reconcile data during the migration process.
· Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams, to align data architecture with overall IT and business strategies. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data architecture, data management, and data governance. Continuously evaluate and improve the organization's data architecture to optimize performance, scalability, and efficiency.
· Technical experience: AWS RDS, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle, AWS DynamoDB or equivalent NO SQL DB, Snowflake
