As part of the Bank's enterprise-wide transformation the Business Banking & Agribusiness Division is looking for many ways to enhance the group’s financial contribution, risk management, client experience and business model efficiency. The BBAB Transformation Team is responsible for guiding business and enterprise transformation, articulating strategic direction, and developing execution plans, highlighting benefits and impacts for stakeholders.


As a Data Business Partner you will be the SME in data governance and the key conduit between the BBAB division and the Group Data Office and Customer & Data Enablement Practice, to enhance the divisional data capability by supporting the formulation of a divisional roadmap for the delivery for the Group data analytics strategy with progressive delivery of value.


The scope of the role is broad and includes the strategic decisioning regarding data definitions and processes with BBAB, actively addressing data quality requirements in relation to data usages, including the benchmarking and metrics for report and process owners. You will also be directing, prioritising and co-ordinating Data Steward activities and facilitating groups and forums to support strategic objectives.


In this role you will get too:


Engage in the evolution of the enterprise data operating model and help clarify the responsibilities and engagement processes for data capabilities across the division.
Support the formulation of a divisional roadmap for the delivery of the Group data strategy.
Implement data governance through adoption of the Data Governance Framework
Ensure that critical Group Data Assets are managed in line with enterprise standards and Executive expectations.
Collaborate with B&A data owners to define data access and usage protocols
Assist in audits and risk assessments relating to data management
Support the division by providing consulting expertise to inform data quality monitoring and reporting.
Develop and implement data cleansing and validation processes and monitor data quality indicators and identify areas for improvement.
Participate in the development and implementation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices
Utilise and streamline enterprise data and reporting frameworks, policies, processes, and guidance to divisional stakeholders.

What you’ll bring to the role


To succeed in this role, you will have:

Advanced Experience with data management and reporting including; data governance, defining data, data quality, data security, data technology and risk & compliance.
Hands on experience with tools such as Collibra, Experian, PowerBI, SAS-EG, SQL, Python are desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge of banking system and data, and the environment (technical and regulatory) it operates in.
Strong knowledge of the financial services and banking industry is essential, with exposure to Business Banking preferable including financial services products, services, channels, competitive dynamics and customer behaviour trends.
Background in analytics with an ability to translate into insights & action

This is a 12-month Contract, preferred location is Melbourne however we are open to all Head Office locations nationally as regular travel to customers and colleagues may be required. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid WFH model of a minimum of 60% of time spent in a local Office from July 2025.
