Job Summary :
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our data and analytics delivery practice, supporting client-facing engagements across enterprise data platforms. This role is ideal for an experienced data engineer who combines strong technical depth in AWS Redshift, SQL, and ETL pipelines with the ability to work directly with clients to deliver reliable, scalable analytics solutions.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering cloud-based data solutions, collaborating with client stakeholders, data analysts, and delivery teams to enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale data pipelines and analytics solutions for Cognizant clients
Build, optimise, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver high-quality data
Write, tune and optimise SQL-based transformations and queries in Amazon Redshift data warehouses to support analytical and reporting use cases
Work closely with client stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Contribute to delivery planning, estimation, and technical design discussions
Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing within the delivery team
Produce clear technical documentation to support ongoing client operations and handovers.
Skills Required:
5–10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles
Strong, demonstrable expertise in data platform development (data modelling, performance tuning, optimisation)
Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations and performance optimisation
Proven experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines
Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts
Strong experience working with cloud-based data and analytics platforms
Experience delivering solutions in client-facing or consulting environments
Experience with Databricks and distributed data processing
Hands-on experience using dbt for data transformations and analytics engineering
Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, or orchestration
Exposure to data orchestration tools (e.g., CTRL-M, Airflow or similar)
Familiarity with BI and reporting platforms supporting analytics consumers
