Job Description: Logistics Assistant
Overview: We are seeking a motivated and organized Logistics Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support our logistics department in ensuring efficient planning, coordination, and execution of transportation and warehousing activities. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, communicating with suppliers and customers, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Order Processing and Coordination:
o Assist in processing orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
o Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to schedule shipments and resolve any issues.
2. Inventory Management:
o Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining accurate records.
o Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and organization of goods.
3. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
o Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and other necessary paperwork.
o Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all logistics activities.
4. Communication and Customer Service:
o Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
o Address inquiries and provide assistance regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and logistics processes.
5. Logistics Support:
o Provide general administrative support to the logistics team, such as preparing reports, and maintaining files.
o Assist in analyzing logistics data and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a similar role within logistics, supply chain, or related field.
• Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems, warehouse management systems).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Tally and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
• Experience in inventory control and warehouse operations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
• This position is typically based in an office environment, with occasional visits to warehouse facilities or client sites.
• Regular working hours, with flexibility required to accommodate shipment schedules and urgent logistics needs.
