For more information, please visit www.tvsmotor.com Group Company: TVS Motor Company Designation: Manager, Metadata & Data Stewardship Office Location: Bangalore, E-City Experience : 4 to 6 years About the Department / Vertical/ Section: Data COE is a group-wide horizontal function with a mission to transform TVS Motor group to be the best in the industry in utilizing data to its competitive advantage. We enable business and technical teams to manage their data effectively and efficiently using standards and best practices. Out current areas of focus include Data Quality, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Enrichment, Data ROI, and Data Audits. Purpose of the role: Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of cataloguing our data assets, enriching them, and keeping the data stewards responsible for enriching metadata. Role Description: Connect to different data sources and harvest technical metadata (data at rest and data in motion). Coordinate with Business and IT stakeholders and enrich the data catalog with additional metadata (business terms, attribute descriptions, data classifications, data domain, data owner, data steward, process, system, policy, rule, etc.) Validate the metadata with relevant stakeholders before publishing for production use. Build data quality rules for critical data elements and validate them with relevant stakeholders. Train data stewards and other business, IT stakeholders on how to use the metadata management tool Create a standard process to gather business and technical metadata and train stakeholders Look for automation opportunities and coordinate with required stakeholders to automate different data governance processes (auditing, metrics gathering, etc.) Provide weekly status reports on the metadata harvesting and enrichment progress to relevant stakeholders. Managing points (Key KPI/KRA’s): Number of data stewards taking responsibility for metadata enrichment Number of systems/environments connected to data cataloging tools Number of tables scanned to data cataloging tool Number of critical attributes with data quality rules documented Number of attributes with sensitive data indicators Number of policies documented in data catalog tool Number of business terms accurately documented Completeness of metadata for all data assets Functional competency: Must have experience using any popular data cataloguing and metadata management tool to harvest and enrich metadata. Must have experience guiding the business data stewards and getting the metadata enriched. Strong conceptual understanding and hands-on experience in Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Data Governance, Data Stewardship, related tools Decent conceptual understanding and training/hands-on exposure (if not experience) on Data Quality Management, related tools Data quality experience (data quality rules configuration, data profiling, scorecarding, etc.) is plus. Any automotive or manufacturing domain experience is a plus. Hands-on experience in Python and SQL is a plus. Hands-on experience in Data Engineering (Azure, AWS or GCP) is a plus. Hands-on experience in DataOps and implementing Observability is a plus. Decent conceptual understanding and training/hands-on exposure (if not experience) on gathering data governance effectiveness and efficiency metrics. Behavioral competency: Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be customer-facing with good stakeholder management. Must be hands-on.
