Data Management Manager - Finance Data Distribution Governance

About this role:

Wells Fargo Finance Data Domain Management (FDDM) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the firm's Data Management Policy and Procedures and ongoing Data Governance across the Finance organization. FDDM is seeing a Data Management Manager to lead our Data Distribution (sourcing) Governance Execution team. The Manager will be accountable for overseeing policy and procedure implementation as well as establishing ongoing BAU processes and governance controls related to the integration, aggregation, and storage and distribution of data into and out of the Finance organization.

The Manager will be tasked with ensuring the timely and accurate production of Data Source Data Dictionaries, Data Quality Checks, and lineage across systems. Further, the candidate will be tasked with implementing processes and controls for ensuring that Finance data is distributed from approved sources and ensure FDDM alignment with strategic data products.

In this role, you will:

Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operational execution for data governance, data quality or metadata

Be accountable for the Data Management Policy and Procedure (DMPP) implementation plan relating to Data Source and Dataset deliverables

Act independently and be accountable for strategy and execution of deliverables and projects.

Manage a book-of-work that includes DMPP implementation, controls execution, enterprise data remediation projects, and other strategic initiatives

Recommend strategies to prioritize and remediate data quality issues that align with business needs or regulatory compliance initiatives

Identify and recommend opportunities for the development of audits and controls structured around business processes and data quality target state and metadata standards

Manage stakeholder routines including regular Data Source Owner Office Hours and special topic calls as needed

Be accountable for timely responses to internal Audit and CDO Testing and Validation and ensuring the team prioritizes engagements

Manage and develop team of individual contributor roles with low to moderate complexity focused on defining data quality requirements and delivering on data integrity initiatives

Manage operational execution of activities related to all stages of the remediation lifecycle

Direct team in developing solutions, tools and processes used to maintain a common companywide data quality, control standards and data sourcing

Collaborate with and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers to ensure consistent approach and direction on companywide remediation efforts

Serve as single point of contact for escalations on low to moderate complexity issues

Manage allocation of people and financial resources

Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

2+ years of Leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

Strong understanding of Wells Fargo Data Management Policy and Procedures. In particular, deep understanding of data distribution and Approved Data source (ADS) strategy.

Strong people management skills

Strong Executive communication skills

Knowledge and understanding of regulatory reporting Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

Knowledge and understanding of Risk and Controls Frameworks and Self Assessments

Knowledge of data architecture and data distribution patterns

Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Working Knowledge of Power BI and the ability to provide requirements for PBI based reporting

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

Hybrid in office 3 days
