Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Data Quality & Management Specialist you will:
Work with stakeholders to develop and implement data quality frameworks and practices including data quality rules, thresholds and scorecards
Provide expert input for defining metadata, reference data management standards and practices.
Collaborate with architects, platform teams and engineers to embed Data Quality controls.
Lead / oversight data quality profiling, monitoring and issue management processes
Contribute to data observability and near real time monitoring practices.
Build string partnerships with icare data domain owns, stewards, technology, data platform, risk and compliance teams to drive data management practices.
Facilitate forums such as those on data quality , cross domain working groups on data quality , data management matters.
Coach junior team members, broader data, analytics and AI teams on data management matters.
Act as SME on data quality and data management controls for regulatory reporting, risk management, data platform projects.
Provide expert advice on data quality measurement, remediation, root cause analysis
Developing and maintaining relationships with client stakeholders.
Engagement in Data Management and Quality activities with stakeholders, including planning and execution of strategic priorities
Define and enforce standards for business definitions, metadata, access levels, and data quality rules, ensuring consistency across domains and alignment to enterprise policies.
Provide expert guidance to domains on structuring business metadata, including technical/physical attributes, lineage requirements, and documentation quality.
Review and approve changes to metadata, definitions, and lineage, ensuring coherence with enterprise frameworks and downstream impacts.
Skills & Experience
Strong/ demonstrated experience in data quality and management capability uplift programs.in complex, regulated environments.
Experience in implementing data capabilities in modern cloud-based data platforms and data governance/ data management tools.
Experience working within Data Governance programs.
Very strong familiarity with metadata issues, processes and practices.
Experience defining, implementing and managing business glossaries and data dictionaries.
Strong project co-ordination experience.
Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills.
Strong skills in data management technology including metadata management, data lineage and data quality tools.
Experience maintaining metadata management tools, including developing data lineage and managing technical/ business metadata.
Experience building and maintaining Data Quality reports.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data issues into business terms.
