Join GlobalLogic, to be a valid part of the team working on a huge software project for the world-class company providing M2M / IoT 4G/5G modules e.g. to the automotive, healthcare and logistics industries. Through our engagement, we contribute to our customer in developing the end-user modules’ firmware, implementing new features, maintaining compatibility with the newest telecommunication and industry standards, as well as performing analysis and estimations of the customer requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations research, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of relevant experience in data science and software engineering, with a demonstrated track record of developing high-performance data solutions, software enhancement, and operational management in complex technical environments.
Proficient in MS Azure, DataBricks, and Azure Data Factory. Strong skills in SQL and experience in data wrangling and manipulation of large data sets (petabytes). PySpark is preferred.
Solid experience in software development, particularly in enhancing and maintaining codebases. Familiarity with software development frameworks and best practices.
Understanding of CI/CD processes, with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps or similar environments. Ability to manage software deployment and updates efficiently.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug process failures, with a keen understanding of application areas and code flows.
Strong collaboration skills, particularly in working closely with data scientists to transform conceptual models into implementable software solutions. Ability to bridge the gap between software engineering and data science effectively.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and reliability in system operations
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of data science and software engineering.
Basic project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, vital for cross-functional collaboration and effective use of email and Slack
Job Responsibilities:
Design and implement data solutions using MS Azure, DataBricks, and Azure Data Factory, ensuring high performance and scalability.
Enhance and improve existing codebases, focusing on efficiency and reliability, while contributing to new feature implementation and system enhancements within the software development framework.
Understand and implement CI/CD processes within complex Azure DevOps environments, ensuring seamless software deployment and updates.
Troubleshoot and debug process failures using knowledge of application areas and code flows.
Handle large-scale data wrangling and optimize SQL queries for big data environments, managing and transforming petabytes of data to enhance data retrieval and processing speeds, while collaborating in the development of new training sets for data science.
Identify and resolve software glitches and API issues, ensuring smooth and efficient system operations.
Work closely with data scientists to translate conceptual data models into implementable software pipelines, ensuring alignment and integration.
Regularly update and maintain the existing data systems and platforms, implementing minor enhancements as needed.
Engage in cross-functional collaboration, bridging the gap between software engineering and data science, to facilitate more focused modeling efforts by U.S.-based resources.
