Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support SCB Finance teams with insights gained from analysing company data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes
The candidate will be responsible for building Machine learning & Deep learning algorithms and NLP and will be responsible for converting blue sky ideas into implementation.
• Should be able to create solutions and try various algorithms to solve the problem.
• Use NLP,ML and DL techniques to bring order to unstructured data
• Experience in extracting signal from noise in large unstructured datasets a plus
• Work within the Engineering Team to design, code, train, test, deploy and iterate on enterprise scale machine learning systems
• Related experience in building chat bots would be added advantage.
• Work alongside an excellent, cross-functional team across Engineering, Product and Design
• Work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Experience in applying machine learning techniques, Natural Language Processing , Building chat bots.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid software engineering skills across multiple languages including but not limited to Java or Python, C/C++
• Problem solver - able to work independently, and be comfortable with deadlines and milestones
• Deep understanding of ML techniques such as: classification, clustering, deep learning, optimization methods, supervised and unsupervised techniques
• Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, ChatBoTetc.
• Strong communication skills and an easy going attitude
• Proven ability to apply, debug, and develop machine learning models for real-world applications
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
• Previous Banking Finance work experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
