Job Description
This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database systems.
• We are seeking an experienced professional with expertise in databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database administration, including installation, configuration, upgrade, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, upgrade, and manage MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and other supported database systems.
• Enforce and implement robust database security measures, roles, user access, and privileges.
• Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery strategies and high-availability setups.
• Perform database patching and upgrades according to industry best practices.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, query response times, and uptime.
• Identify, design, and implement process enhancements to improve data flow and system reliability.
• Document and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards.
• Minimize downtime by efficiently managing database parameters and system resources.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support integration and scalability needs.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in administration of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
• Proven ability to standardize database installation and configuration processes.
• Strong experience in disaster recovery planning, high availability implementations, and data backup strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical and algorithmic approach to challenges.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Proficient in implementing database security frameworks and access controls.
• Familiarity with tools and scripting for automation and monitoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with PL/pgSQL is highly beneficial.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database, GCP).
• Scripting knowledge (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and database integration in CI/CD pipelines.
