POSITION OVERVIEW : snowflake DBA
Position's General Duties and Tasks Required. Database Admin Lead 8 + years (Oracle /SQL Server / Teradata ).
Any good DBA with DWH background and cloud exposure. Oracle/Teradata/SQL server DBA also fine.
DBA Responsibilities
User/SDLC Work
• Maintain Roles/Grants as necessary
• Create non-scim users (not anticipated)
• Implement DDL changes (if SDLC automation is not implemented – should be CICD pipelines)
• Clone Databases for Retention/SDLC process (mostly automated)
• Recover Data via Time Travel/Coordinate with Snowflake Support for Fail Safe
• Data Replication/Failover for DR (create replicas, replication tasks, and/or maintain Failover URLs)
Maintain/Monitor
• Monitor Performance / Bad Queries (runaways)
• Monitor overall usage/credit consumption
• Monitor user logins/sql logs as needed or required
• Monitor grants to roles and grants to users as required
• Add cluster keys to tables as needed/monitor usage and consumption
• Add search optimization to tables as needed
Monitor Region-to-Region Copy Failures as needed
