Job Description
• Provide technical support for the company's 24x7 production databases and associated technologies in a controlled environment, including Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 1+c etc. and PostgreSQL 10, 11 etc.
• Maintain security and overall reliability of all database platforms.
• Install database systems, applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions and document actions.
• Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades and migrations.
• Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource management, schema management, and capacity planning and performance tuning for the company's databases.
• Apply patches to fix bugs and/or enhance functionality and security as required and in conjunction with the company's procedures for change control.
• Provide technical architecture and design as required.
• Perform code promotions in compliance with the company's procedures for change control.
• Work with developers and analysts to support development efforts.
• Clone Oracle databases as needed to support development and testing efforts.
• Work with various internal teams such as server, storage, backup & network administration teams to coordinate and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues.
• Establish policies and procedures pertaining to data management, security, maintenance and utilization.
Qualifications
• 6-10 years' experience with Oracle Database administration is required.
• Prior experience with Oracle Database administration for SAP Applications is required
• Strong Database Administration Skills on Oracle is required and PostgreSQL databases is preferred.
• Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 1+c database experience is required.
• PostgreSQL 10, 11, 12 database experience is preferred.
• Oracle Enterprise manager (OEM) 11g or 12c or 13c experience is required.
• Oracle Database installation and configuration experience is required.
• Backup/Restore, Database Export/Import, Data pump and RMAN experience is required.
• Disaster recovery and Data Guard experience is preferred..
• Performance tuning experience is required in Oracle and preferred in PostgreSQL.
• Create/Support automated scripted solutions to perform various administration and monitoring tasks is required.
• PostgreSQL database server architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies in Linux environment is preferred.
• Server and operating system knowledge (IBM AIX or Linux and Windows) is required.
