Currently we are looking for a Database Administrator 1
The Database Administrator is responsible for the availability performance maintenance and security of all database environments across multiple platforms within our data centers. The position uses develops and improves automation to maintain peak efficiency.
What you will be doing
• Create databases for new customer and internal environments with oversight from other team members
• Refresh customer test environment databases from production with oversight from other team members
• Monitor customer solutions for performance trends or disruptions with oversight from other team members
• Assist with application upgrades through database modification scripts with oversight from team members
• Investigate and operate as a first responder for customer support issues while working with other members of the team
• Assist with documentation management as it relates to team processes and policies
• Assist with low complexity Incident Response Management by providing research, investigation and change assistance
• Assist with remediation of internal audit activities on a quarterly basis
• Assist with project task implementation to improve team efficiency, automation, and security.
What will make you successful
• Graduation or eqivalent education with industry work experience
• Experience working within a structured server environment
• Collaboration skills, applied successfully within team
• Oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow team defined processes and standards
• Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner
• Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Knowledge of scripting languages and how to use them to benefit day to day operations.
• Basic understanding of database concepts, design, and structure
• Up to 5% travel time required
