Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 3+ years of experience working with MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
This is a full-time, office-based position with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams globally.
Key Responsibilities
• Database Optimization & Configuration: Configure and optimize databases to ensure high performance and fast query responses.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high availability and fault tolerance systems, including replication setups and backup/restore solutions.
• Cloud Database Management: Manage and implement cloud-based database solutions on platforms like Amazon RDS, Microsoft Azure, and DBaaS.
• Monitoring & Health Checks: Define and implement monitoring processes and health check parameters to ensure optimal database performance and security.
• Automation: Utilize scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.) to automate database administration tasks and improve efficiency.
• Data Management & Security: Provide proactive and reactive data management support, ensuring security, privacy, and integrity of database systems.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work with global project teams to understand challenges, identify risks in production systems, and implement solutions. Document best practices and contribute to a central knowledge base for all DBA teams.
• Database Policies & Standards: Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a DBA working with MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.).
• Strong hands-on experience with database optimization, replication setups, and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Experience with cloud-based database technologies such as Amazon RDS, Microsoft Azure, and DBaaS.
• Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or scripting languages (Python, Perl).
• Experience with database tools like pgBackRest, Patroni, pgBouncer, RMAN, and Oracle RAC.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) are a plus.
Desired Skills
• Ability to work with database security, privacy, and integrity protocols.
• Familiarity with cloud database management and disaster recovery solutions.
