Work you'll do/Responsibilities
Database Management: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle (Including EXADATA), SQL Server, and DB2 on AS400 databases.
Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
Security Management: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects between different database systems.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.
Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexes.
Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
5+ years of database administration experience
Experience working on Oracle, SQL, and DB2 databases
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Role is remote

Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
Excellent Written and Communication Skills
Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $+5,000 to $145,000.
