Position Description
The job seeker should be responsible to keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Responsibilities
• Provision MySQL instances
• Responsible for performance, security, and availability of databases.
• Ensure performance security, and availability of databases
• Prepare documentation and specifications
• Experience in database software management (patch and version management)
• Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of Shell Scripts or Python.
• Provides technical escalation expertise for database system problems.
Skills and Qualifications
• Full-time bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or similar diploma or degree courses.
• Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL
• Experience in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of MySQL software and related products
• Hands-on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies
• Experience in troubleshooting issues and determining root causes
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications
• Working knowledge of performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Good team player with strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills
