Job Description
• Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an IBM DB2 for z/OS estate which has the following characteristics: Provides high availability (24x7)
• Provides advanced functionality to permit the business to become a leader in new markets.
• Perform all functions which are performed by a DB2 System Programmer (Senior), such as:
• DB2 Installation, Migration, and PTF Installation with SMP/E
• Create, manage and support DB2 Stored Procedures
• Create and maintain DB2 structures in Coupling Facility
• Maintain the DB2 Catalog/Directory (Analysis, Backup, Recover, Reorg, etc)
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning DB2 at a subsystem level
• Plan, analyze and implement DB2 Disaster Recovery procedures, practices and jobs
• Create Change Requests, Resolve Service Requests, and Provide 24x7 Oncall support.
• Make technical decisions on project or program direction
• Track and analyze technology trends
• Track and analyze performance trends
• Provide budgetary input on software, technical projects, training and programs
• Develop and manage schedules for major system software implementation projects
• Trace and Dump capture and analysis.
Skills :
Expert knowledge of DB2 for z/OS Systems Programming, including, but not limited to, the following :
• - IBM DB2 for z/OS version 12 (experience of version 13 would be desirable, but is not necessary)
• - IBM DB2 for z/OS Data Sharing (including Coupling Facility structure maintenance)
• - IBM DB2 for z/OS RSU maintenance rollouts (Shopz ordering, SMP/E processing etc)
• - IBM DB2 for z/OS version upgrades - IBM DB2 for z/OS system performance tuning (Buffer pools, ZPARMs etc)
• - IBM Tools installation/maintenance/upgrades
• - particularly the IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS
• - ISV software installation/maintenance/upgrades - particularly BMC
• - Diagnosis of system issues and main interface to vendor support (e.g. IBM ServiceLink)
• - DB2 attachments/interfaces such as DDF/DRDA, IBM DB2 Connect, CICS Attach, Call Attach, IBM
• MUST HAVES:
• Mainframe DB2 System Administrator Experience in Z/OS Joining time / Notice Period: 0 to 30 Days

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
Interview Process: 2 rounds of Technical interview followed by Client/HR interview. Candidates are expected to work 3 days a week from UST development Center.
